Beijing: December 17, 2024: A 30-member delegation of Pakistani experts from various Federal Ministries and Provincial Departments, led by Dr. Nadeem Javaid, has arrived in China to participate in a 14-day workshop aimed at preparing for the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The workshop will facilitate knowledge exchange between Pakistani and Chinese experts, focusing on China’s development experiences and setting priorities for CPEC Phase-II in line with Pakistan’s economic needs.
Addressing the workshop’s inaugural session, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Prof. Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary termed the initiative a unique opportunity for Pakistan to harness China’s expertise in agriculture, industry, and technology. He emphasized that leveraging this collaboration could pave the way for Pakistan’s transformation into a modern economy.
“The government’s 5EsFramework will place Pakistan on the path of export-led growth while laying the foundation for a technology-driven economy,” he stated. Prof. Iqbal also highlighted the factors behind China’s remarkable development, attributing its success to political stability, policy continuity, and consistent reforms.
Earlier, the Federal Minister visited the headquarters of Power China and expressed condolences over the tragic killing of two Chinese workers in a terrorist attack in Karachi. He described the slain workers as “benefactors of Pakistan,” adding that the entire Pakistani nation shares the grief of their loss.
“Cowardly and brutal acts of terrorism cannot weaken the bond between Pakistan and China,” he asserted, reaffirming Pakistan’s firm resolve to eradicate terrorism.
