Dr. Prof. Tang Mengsheng

Director of the Center for Pakistan Studies at Peking University

Dr. Prof. Tang Mengsheng,from School of Foreign Languages at Peking University, China. He is doctoral supervisor, and Director of the Center for Pakistan Studies at Peking University. He has been engaged in teaching and research for a long time, focusing on South Asian history, Pakistan Studies, South Asian Islamic culture and literature research. He has undertaken more than 10 research projects, including National Social Science Foundation research projects, Ministry of Education base major research projects, and research projects commissioned by the National Development and Reform Commission.
 In recent years, it mainly includes: "industrial cooperation and industrial park construction in the construction of the CPEC", "research on the national conditions of countries along the Belt and Road", "China Afghanistan and Pakistan economic cooperation under the framework of international cooperation along the Belt and Road" , "Increase publicity efforts to create a favorable international public opinion environment for the construction of the CPEC. " 
His main works include "Sufism and Its Historical Role" and " Medieval Religious Literature" (Volume 1 and Volume 2). and have won the First Prize for Outstanding Achievements in the 12th Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences. He is also the second author of "Pakistani Society and Culture", "Dictionary of Eastern Customs and Culture" (co authored), "Collection of Eastern Interesting Stories and Tales" (co authored), and "Eastern Mythology and Legends" (co authored). Translated works include: "Avanti by the Indian River", "Pakistani Folktales", etc. He has published dozens of essays, mainly including: "The Said Movement and South Asian Culture", "On the Islamization of Zia-ul-Haq".
