Islamabad, April 4, 2017: The world leading French enterprises from different sectors, mainly, information technology, energy, infrastructure and others are keen to heavily invest in Pakistan.
A delegation of Pakistan France Business Council expressed this interest on Tuesday, in a meeting with Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms at Planning Commission, Islamabad. French Ambassador to Pakistan Her Excellency Mrs. Martine DORANCE was leading the delegation.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal welcomed the French Businessmen and apprised them that China Pakistan Economic Corridor has created new and favorable opportunities for investment in different sectors. Minister Iqbal noted that French companies should invest in Pakistan’s robust industrial sector and bring in new technologies. “It will help to add value on different levels of production processes & increase production in general. Pakistan has a huge potential to generate quality exports if right & focused investments are made.
Minister highlighted different efforts undertaken by Government to promote export of Pakistani products. He said that government had provided a favorable environment to attract foreign direct investment during the last 4-years. Moreover, CPEC has revitalized the export sector by promoting linkages and connectivity in the whole region.
Prof. Ahsan Iqbal further said that government has introduced economic reforms coupled with peace and stability. “Such efforts have resulted in cutting down 50 percent of our deficit and has helped the GDP to grow to 5 percent, while foreign reserves multiplied to the highest level and stock exchange has also constantly thrived”.
He said the recent political and economic stability has restored the trust of foreign investors, attracting heavy investments from the leading business companies. “Entire world is expressing its interest to reap benefits of CPEC” added Ahsan Iqbal.
Minister said that the world has turned into a global village where changes in any part affect others. There is a strong need to initiate joint efforts for combating climate change, war against terrorism and other challenges, he added.
Minister said Pakistan has rendered huge sacrifices to combat war in this region. “Now we should jointly fight against terrorism and regional prejudices to promote economy as an alternative for bringing sustainability and peace in the world”
On this occasion, the president of Pakistan France Business Council Thierry PFLIMLIN said that economic reforms have resulted in increased investment opportunities in Pakistan. He said that we are aware of the changes in region and commend Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism. He further said that CPEC has enhanced business and investment opportunities in Pakistan for France and other European countries. Everyone wants to benefit from new business opportunities being offered under CPEC framework. He further added that French companies are interested in investing in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, defense and digital technology sectors.
It is pertinent to mention that the French business delegation is visiting Islamabad and Karachi to explore future investment opportunities.

انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی، تونائی، انفراسٹرکچر اور دیگر مختلف شعبوں میں کام کرنے والی دنیا کی بڑی فرانسیسی کمپنیوں نے پاکستان میں سرمایہ کاری میں دلچسپی کا اظہار کردیا ہے، پاکستان فرانس بزنس کونسل کے وفد میں شامل ان کمپنیوں کے سربراہان نے یہ اظہار منگل کو پلاننگ کمیشن اسلام آباد میں وفاقی وزیر برائے منصوبہ بندی ، ترقی و اصلاحات احسن اقبال کیساتھ ایک ملاقات کے دوران کیا ، اس موقع پر وفاقی وزیر احسن اقبال کا کہنا تھا کہ سی پیک کی بدولت پاکستان میں سرمایہ کاری کے نئے و بہترین مواقع پیدا ہوئےہیں، فرانسیسی کمپنیاں پاکستان کےصنعتی شعبے کو جدید خطوط پر استوار کرنے کیلئے ٹیکنالوجی کی فراہمی میں سرمایہ کاری کریں، وفاقی وزیر نے مزید کہا کہ صنعتی شعبے میں سرمایہ کاری سے پیداوار میں اضافہ اور معیار میں بہتری آئے گی، انہوں نے کہ پاکستان کی بر آمدات میں اضافہ کرنے کے لئے اقدامات کئے جا رہے ہیں ،حکومت نے گزشتہ چار سال کے دوران بیرونی سرمایہ کاری لانے کیلئے بہترین اور سازگار ماحول فراہم کیا ہے، وفاقی وزیر احسن اقبال نے کہا کہ سی پیک کے زریعے خطے میں علاقائی روابط و تعاون کو فروغ ملے گا، اس کے ساتھ ساتھ موجودہ حکومت نےگزشتہ چار سالوں کے دوران معاشی اصلاحات و امن امان کی بحالی ممکن بنائی، جس کی بدولت ملکی خسارے میں 50 فیصد کمی اور شرح نمو 5 فیصدتک پہنچ گئی،گزشتہ دوسالوں کے دوران سٹاک ایکسچینج میں تیزی کا تسلسل برقرار رہا اور زرمبادلہ کے ذخائر میں خاطر خواہ اضافہ ہوا،ان اقدامات کی وجہ سے بیرونی سرمایہ کاروں کا پاکستان کے حوالے سے اعتماد بحال ہوا، انہوں نے کہا کہ اس وقت صورتحال یہ ہے کہ دنیا بھر کی بڑی کمپنیاں پاکستان کے مختلف شعبوں میں سرمایہ کاری میں دلچسپی کا اظہار کر رہی ہیں اور سی پیک کی بدولت پیدا ہونے والے مواقع سے پوری دنیا استفادہ کرنا چاہتی ہے۔
وفاقی وزیر احسن اقبال نے اس موقع پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے مزید کہا کہ دنیا گلوبل ویلج بن چکی ہے جہاں ایک حصے میں کسی تبدیلی سے پوری دنیا متاثر ہوتی ہے، لہذاموسمیاتی تبدیلی، دہشت گردی اور دیگر معاملات پر عالمی سطح پر مشترکہ کوششوں کو مربوط کرنے کی ضرورت ہے،ان کا کہنا تھا کہ گزشتہ کئی دہائیوں کے دوران پاکستان نے دہشت گردی کے خاتمے کی کوششوں میں بڑی قربانیاں دیں، اب مل کر دہشت گردی سے مستقل نجات کیلئے متبادل کے طور پر خطے میں معاشی سرگرمیوں کو فروغ دینا ہوگا اور پائیدار امن و معاشی استحکام کیلئے علاقائی تعصبات کا مقابلہ کرنا ہوگا۔
اس موقع پر فرانس پاکستان بزنس کونسل کے سربراہ تیری فلیملین کا کہنا تھا کہ گزشتہ چار سالوں کے دوران معاشی اصلاحات کی وجہ سے پاکستان میں سرمایہ کاری کے مواقع بڑھ گئے ہیں، خطے میں رونما ہونے والی تبدیلیوں سے آگاہ ہیں ، پاکستان نے دہشت گردی کے خاتمے کے لئے قابل قدر قربانیاں دیں، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ سی پیک کی وجہ سے پاکستان میں سرمایہ کاری کے نئے مواقع پیدا ہوئے،فرانس اور دیگر یورپی ممالک پاکستان میں پیدا ہونے ان مواقعوں سے استفادہ کرنا چاہتے ہیں، ان کا کہنا تھا کہ فرانسیسی کمپنیاں انفراسٹرکچر، توانائی، زراعت، دفاع اور ڈیجیٹل شعبے میں سرمایہ کاری کیلئے تیار ہیں، واضح رہے کہ یہ وفدپاکستان کے شہر اسلام آباد اور کراچی کا دورہ کررہا ہے تاکہ پاکستان میں سرمایہ کاری کے نئے مواقعوں کا جائزہ لیا جائے
