Decision is reached to build The CPEC Tower in the capital city, Islamabad. The tower will be the tallest building in the city and will serve as a symbol of socioeconomic progress Pakistan is making across all the fronts.

Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms (PD&R), Ahsan Iqbal noted that the iconic tower will attract investors & will serve as a symbol of branding Pak-China Friendship.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Minister Ahsan Iqbal at Planning Commission in Islamabad on Monday. Senior officials from the PD&R, other line ministries and departments attended the meeting. 

A high level committee to be headed by Malik Ahmed Khan, Member Infrastructure, PD & R will work on the proposed CPEC tower.

While speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Iqbal laid down the tasks for the committee. Directions were given to conduct a feasibility study after identifying a suitable site. It was further directed to acquire the land in the light of feasibility study.

“Committee should sit with relevant departments to resolve issues of building codes and regulations” said Minister Iqbal.  

Minister Iqbal stated that the initiative will provide facilitation to Chinese and other investors from around the world. He further said that the tallest building would help in image building of Islamabad as a sustainable and vibrant city thriving upon entrepreneurship, science and technology, research and development, finance and culture.

“CPEC tower should be equipped with state of the art hotel, office spaces, commercial spaces and modern facilities”. said Minister.

وفاقی وزیر برائے منصوبہ بندی، ترقی و اصلاحات احسن اقبال نے اسلام آباد میں سی پیک ٹاور تعمیر کرنے کیلئے ہدایات جاری کردی،  یہ بلند ترین عمارت چین اور دیگر ممالک کے سرمایہ کاروں کو راغب کرنے اور پاک چین دوست کی علامت ہوگی۔

وفاقی وزیر احسن اقبال نے یہ ہدایات پیر کوپلاننگ کمیشن اسلام آباد میں ایک اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے جاری کی، اجلاس میں وزارت منصوبوں بندی، دیگر وزارتوں اور محکموں کے  اعلیٰ حکام نے شرکت کی۔اس موقع پر ممبر انفراسٹرکچر ، پلاننگ کمیشن کی سربراہی میں ایک کمیٹی بھی قائم کی گئی جو اس منصوبے کو عملی شکل دینے کیلئے کام کرے گی۔

اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے وفاقی وزیر نے کمیٹی کو سی پیک ٹاور کی فیزبیلٹی، سائٹ کی نشاندہی اور اس مقصد اراضی کے حصول کا ٹاسک بھی دے دیا، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ کمیٹی متعلقہ اداروں کیساتھ مل کر بلند ترین عمارت کی تعمیر کے حوالے سےقواعد و ضوابط کا جائزہ لے۔

وفاقی وزیر کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ ٹاور نہ صرف چینی اور دیگر سرمایہ کاروں کو سہولیات فراہم کرے گا بلکہ یہ پاک چین دوستی کی علامت بھی تصور ہوگا۔انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ بلند ترین عمارت اسلام آباد کے نقشے کو تبدیل کرنے میں مدد دے گا جہاں قائم انٹر پرائز زونز  کے زریعے سائنس اور ٹیکنالوجی، تحقیق اور ترقی، فنانس اور ثقافتی شعبے میں جدت لانے کی کوشش کی جائے گی،  وفاقی وزیر کا کہنا تھا کہ عمارت میں ہوٹل، دفاتر اور کمرشل کمپلیکس قائم کیا جائے گا۔
